I had a windows server 2003 SP2 installed with PCAnywhere 10.5 and it was still working until last week. However, I got an error message "unable to connect to host. host is busy" this week. I check the server and the host shows it is waiting for connection but I still got the "host is busy" message while trying to connect from other machines. I reinstalled the PCAnywhere with version 12.5 and the problem remains. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have windows 7 32 bit encryption on both host and remote computers. Everything is set up as per instructions. It sends the item to be printed to the remote and it shows receiving something but does not print it! I'm using HP Officejet 4630 and I did unenable the bidirectional on both the host and remote. Why am I have so much trouble?
User have no access to remote on pcanywhere, how can i add for access it?

Hello, I am installing PCA on hundreds of computers, and I am trying to save time by copying a pre-configured host to each computer using a batch script. But what files do I need to copy over? I am aware of the path C:\ProgramData\Symantec\pcAnywhere\Hosts. I tried copying the host.BHF that I created, however that does not seem to take the config with it i.e. username/password and checkbox for "start with windows"...etc.
What are the key files to copy over, and is there another location other than above?

there is a known issue with pcAnywhere that broadcast addresses cannot be used.
How to disable the network browse functionality when trying to connect to a Host whose IP addres ends with .255

However today I saw the same behaviour for a network ID address.
Let's say one uses 10.0.0.0 addresses and a 255.255.248.0 subnet mask.
So there is a range 10.49.88.1 - 10.49.95.254 with 10.49.88.0 as network address and 10.49.95.255 as broadcast address.
One client has got the address 10.49.90.0 from DHCP. When the helpdesk guy tried to connect to that client the address has been recognised as class C network ID address and therefore a selection of all active hosts in that class C range is displayed.
Did anyone see that before?

Hello folks, finally got my daily machine on Win7 64bit. pcAnywhere 11.5 wouldn't work so I ordered 12.5. Got that package and was excited. Loaded the software and it was 12.55. Ouch! It won't work with any prior version. I spent $200. I need 12.5. What do I do, I really don't want to spend any more. I've got 10 clients to support that have 11.5 loaded and I can't get to them.

When i connect to a plant i could be that i got the following PCA Message
connection to the host is not possible. Host is busy
When someone looks directly on the Host Computer (PCA Systray) i can see
Session: Time
User: Name
Is it possible to get this Status Information remotly to my software?

I'd like to see if someone has input with this before I open a case with Symantec Support about it. We are also transitioning from an older VNC application to pcAnywhere 12.6.8209, which is deployed as a plug-in to our SMP ITMS.
When a pcAnywhere session is the active window and the Host is moving the mouse and the Host stops moving the mouse, the Remote mouse pointer will be where the Host stopped their mouse. At times the mouse will actually move at the same time.
Has anyone heard of or seen this before? Thanks for any input that anyone has.
Is RSA SecureID no longer an option for two-factor authentication in Windows 7? I can easily configure this with XP. But after installing the Window 7 and the correct RSA software for Windows 7 I no longer see RSA as a selectable authentication type.

The registry for PCA was removed by accident on the NS server - when I try to deploy the plug-in again it fails with exit code 1001 - anyone know how to reinstall again ?
I have install the symantec pcanywhere agent but it not be sucesfully install, how to do it?
I'm starting to see this issue on more and more of my managed PCs. All of the dumps so far have pointed to aw_host5.sys as the module causing the error. Has anybody seen this?
